With a day to spare, I completed my September finish. It's a copy of August's finish - more old swap 9 patches turned into a table runner.

This is going to be a little surprise for a neighbor that's so good to us - a little something to help her decorate for Halloween.

September Finish

Let me introduce you to Mr. Frank N. Stein!!  I won this kit at quilt camp a couple years ago.  He's been cut out and tucked away waiting patiently for me to get him together.  YIPPPPPEEEE, he's done and just in time for Halloween!

Two new Bears

I've been working on two more bears recently. Finally finished them today. They have to be dressed yet. They are gifts for my DD's netball coaches. Now I have to dress them in netball uniforms. They played in two leagues, hence the two uniforms.

Here are the bears (undressed!)

Both designed by Debbie Amos. She has created beautiful bears. Lovely to make.

Pastellation - Finish 16!

I didn't think I would get there so quickly, but it's done: My pastel tessellating pinwheels, now named Pastellation, are completed and the pics are ready to be send off for the Big Quilt Exhibition. It has been an interesting journey, the colours are very different to what I normally use, I hadn't done the pinwheels before, and instead of working out beforehand how big everything will be there was a lot of trial and error which can be quite scary! Here are some pics for you:

And then there were NINE

I am back sooner than I thought with my ninth finish for 2012.

These angels were created in 2007 as part of a group swap

I have eventually turned these sweet little angels into a little memory quilt.

An Eighth Finish

Not a UFO but a finish all the same.  I made this little Kitty for Kaye at Kitten Stitching as part of my PIF obligation for 2012.

It took me an evening to do the embroidery and the next morning I got it all stitched together and into the post asap. Too read more, head to my blog at  Bits 'n Bobs

I am almost finished Finish 9 so see you back here in a few days.

Repurposed UFO

Before we head off on our trip I decided I needed to make a laptop sleeve to protect my laptop from knocks and bumps.
Checking through the box of UFOs and orphan blocks I found this piece . I have had it floating around for some years now, with the intention of using it for a cushion cover..  It was the perfect size for the laptop, so it became repurposed.

I “loosely” followed this tutorial,  added a pocket to the back, and used a different method to insert the zip.

To finish off I took another UFO piece – I had quilted this with the intention of making a candle mat or mug rug from it, but hadnt finished it off.  I cut it down, finished off the edges, added non slip to the back and made it into a small and light mouse pad.

September Finish

I cut this bag out ages ago - I am guessing 5 years.  I made one for myself and one of my work friends admired it so much I planned to make one for her - so I cut most of it out... and then along came something else and another something else and it got totally shelved, apart form being on my "To Do" list.

Its done and she still likes it (luckily!).

Bags are such easy finishes aren't they??

I will be adding it to the 100 Quilts For Kids Flickr pool.

Finish number 2 & 3

Well finally here is finish number two and three for me for 2012 (of the UFO variety that is). They have been done for a while, but I was MIA from blogland for a few months.....

Not sure if I should count this here, as it is not a 'finish-finish' but it was on my UFO list and I completed my work on it in February and returned it to Janis as part of the Stitching Round the Block that Helen Stubbings ran late in 2010.  My own block is still on my list to be finished up.

This pillow was started last year as a result of me losing a little wager with Chookyblue, and finally it has made it to her house.  It is called Necessities Sampler and it is a design by Little House Needleworks.

I have one more finish done too, but need to find a missing SD card to get some photos.

There have been some lovely finishes here lately, keep up the great work girls!!

Happy stitching.... Nicky

Finish Seven

I am falling behind quite badly on my 12 in 12 personal challenge.  I forgot to post this finish back in May and then I sent if off to someone overseas as part of a swap.  Unfortunately, she never received the parcel (and I never got hers) so who knows what happened to this little finish

I did most of the handsewing when I went over to the UK earlier this year for a sad family event.

I am so disappointed and annoyed that this did not reach the intended recipient.

Thank you for taking a look

A September Finish # 15 ....

My quilt is done

Butterfly Garden - design by Leanne Beasley....

full of butterflies .....

and daisies....

and lovely words....

and sweet stitcheries....

looks perfect with spring growth .....

I used a wool/polyester blend - it gives the extra loft I wanted
you can see the quilting on the back - I did lots of stitch in the ditch around the applique - and some details in them... meandering over the rest and some fun quilting in some of the backstitched blocks

this picture is not so clear but I did a mini feather wreath and little feathers in the triangles

fits over the top of a queen bed  comfortably....

This quilt was my first needleturn work ..... each block was such a pleasure to make....

 I will miss doing it....

This was a UFO from last year... so it goes towards my Sew It's Finished item for September

# 15 sounds like I have done so well... I had a list of 30 at the beginning of the year... so half way through but I don't think the year is going to be long enough to finish them all

Righto, Gotto Go...... need to get out yet another UFO hiding away....

August finishes

I am a little late in posting my August finishes, but better late than never.

Firstly I completed my jelly roll sampler quilt made in the French general range of fabrics

Also, as I am hosting a cushion swap, I practised making some, as I needed them for my new out door setting - getting ready for summer.  Here are the two that I made last month.
